Anabolic, anti-catabolic, anti-proteolytic, and protein-sparing: these terms describe the state of protein in muscle. The bodybuilding community defines anabolic compounds as those that increase amino acid shuttling into muscle and increase protein synthesis. Anti-proteolytic compounds are those that decrease amino acid shuttling out of muscle, also called protein-sparing. Whether amino acids are gained through increased influx and protein synthesis, conservation of amino acids already in muscle, or both, the resulting environment supports muscle building.

How Muscle-Building Supplements Work:

The Science

Most bodybuilding and muscle-building supplements do very little, but a few can increase the uptake of amino acids into muscle, and a few others help conserve amino acids already there. Dianabol® is built to do both, which supports an anabolic, protein-sparing state. Its active compounds signal muscles to take up more amino acids from the blood. This allows them to build muscle protein at a faster rate through increased protein synthesis while decreasing muscle-wasting activity, so hard-earned muscle stays intact.

Prohormones: Dianabol® contains several anabolic compounds and prohormones. The primary one, 3β-Hydroxy-1,4-androstadien-17-one (a 1,4-andro compound), is used for longer cycles and is looked at for a slow, steady gain of quality muscle mass rather than rapid bulk. Its structure is close to methandrostenolone, and the C1-2 double bond increases the ratio of anabolic to androgenic effect. The formula also includes 3β-hydroxyandrost-5-en-17-one and 3β-Acetoxy-5-androsten-17-one, adrenal-derived hormones that support lean muscle and strength.

Flavones: 5-methyl-7-methoxy-isoflavone (U.S. patent 4,163,746) and 7-Isopropoxyisoflavone are non-hormonal compounds shown to support protein synthesis and nitrogen retention without androgenic effects. Their limit has always been bioavailability, which is why Hi-Tech pairs them with Cyclosome™ delivery.

Plant Anabolics: Dianabol® includes 5a-Hydroxy Laxogenin for a balanced cortisol response, Rhaponticum Carthamoides (containing Ecdybolin™, a 33:1 anabolic-to-androgenic ratio adaptogen used by Russian Olympic athletes since the 1970s), and Diosterol™, a concentrated Dioscorea Nipponica extract standardized for furostanolic saponins and protodioscin, used to support natural testosterone production and muscle mass.

Cyclosome™ Delivery

We recently developed a proprietary process called Cyclosome™ Technology, which wraps hydrophobic prohormones and testosterone-boosting compounds in a water-soluble cyclodextrin complex inside liposomes. The idea is a "Trojan Horse" that passes through the liver intact rather than being broken down, delivering the active compounds into circulation through the intestinal lymphatic route instead of losing them to first-pass metabolism in the liver. Many oral testosterone-boosting tablets lose much of their active compound to that first-pass effect.

Our double-loading technique increases how much prohormone each Cyclosome can carry and controls its release, which helps improve the bioavailability of compounds like flavones that otherwise absorb poorly.
