Hi-Tech's AMP3D™ Pre-workout and Advanced Nitric Oxide Supplement uses a Hi-Tech proprietary blend compound, Citrulline Silicate (Nitro Rx®), built for strong nitric oxide production. AMP3D™ uses an approach called arginase inhibition. This technology leaves an abundance of L-arginine uncompromised in the muscle pool to create more NO, leading to strong muscular vasodilation. THE SCIENCE
Nitric oxide (NO) is one of the largest categories in sports nutrition, and most NO products share one flaw, which is easy to see by inspecting their formulas. They fail to address the most effective way to make L-arginine available for NO production, which is to inhibit the arginase enzyme. Arginase breaks down arginine, which is a problem for NO pre-workout supplement products because arginine is the source of NO production. Hi-Tech Pharmaceuticals designed AMP3D™ to tackle the arginase problem directly and take arginase out of the NO equation.
Many scientific discoveries happen while searching for unrelated applications. Hi-Tech initially developed S-(2-boronethyl)-L-cysteine HCl (BEC) as a sexual stimulant while perfecting Stamina-Rx®, then found the compound also had muscle-building properties. AMP3D™ uses a direct approach by delivering high dosages of L-arginine into the bloodstream along with a potent arginase inhibitor that bonds to arginase enzymes and keeps them from preventing L-arginine from reaching NOS enzymes on the way to creating NO. Hi-Tech uses BEC, the arginase inhibitor in AMP3D™, alongside L-citrulline, citrulline silicate, agmatine silicate, and arginine HCl. This leaves an abundance of L-arginine in the muscle pool to create more NO for muscular vasodilation.
Although everyone in the supplement world is talking about NO and pre-workout products, few explain how it works. When the amino acid L-arginine reaches the endothelial cells of the inner arterial walls, nitric oxide (NO) forms via the enzyme nitric oxide synthase (NOS), which means L-arginine is a precursor of NO. Increased NO causes vasodilation, or widening, of blood vessels. This raises blood volume, known as "the pump," which bodybuilders seek to support the exchange of oxygen, glucose, amino acids, and creatine into muscle and waste byproducts out during and after intense muscle contraction.

How a Nitric Oxide Pre Workout Works With Caffeine
- What's in the Scoop: AMP3D™ runs a nitric oxide side for pumps and a stimulant side for energy. The NO side supports blood flow, and the caffeine side supports high energy levels and focus during high-intensity exercise.
- Caffeine Dosing: The ISSN puts the effective range for exercise performance at 3 to 6 mg per kilogram of body weight, and the FDA notes 400 mg a day is the ceiling for most healthy adults, counting all sources.
- Muscle Pump Effects: Citrulline and arginine support blood flow and muscular endurance by widening blood vessels, which is separate from what caffeine does.
